Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with the Secretary-General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue ACD Bundit Limschoon on the sidelines of the 14th Asia Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting (ACD MM14) in Bangkok.
During the meeting, Zarif and Limschoon discussed the plans of the organization for the period of September 2017 to September 2018 during which Iran presides the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) as well as the plans for the first meeting of the tourism ministers of the member states to be hosted by Iranian city of Tabriz.
Iran’s Zarif also invited Mr. Limschoon to pay a visit to the Tehran-based center of ACD’s Cultural Cooperation.
Offering gratitude to Iran’s FM for the country's efforts to establish academic network of cooperation between 24 universities of 14 ACD countries, Mr. Limschoon demanded Zarif to encourage more Iranian universities to enjoy the network and Mr. Zarif welcomed the request and promised further help to be provided.
The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) is an intergovernmental organization created on 18 June, 2002, to promote Asian cooperation at a continental level and to help integrate separate regional organizations such as ASEAN, SAARC, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the EAEU.
